suggested story and character concepts

I notice that story and character ideas are being posed under other topics.  It might be a good idea to post and discuss them all in one place.

Just a thought, could Skorp be a combination of my idea and cheekygeek42's idea??

Hey cheekygeek - nice take on Skorp! Kind of the sarcastic, used-car-salesman type? I like it! And maybe he stays with the Zenoids because he's in love with Zara . . . hmmm . . .

And BTW, welcome!

I just found out about MOS a couple days ago. Since then I have been lurking around trying to figure out what makes this place tic. I think that 'The Zenoids' is an amazing concept. I figured since scripts are still being accepted others might still be interested in talking, even though there has been little activity as of late.

I just submitted a script with my version of Skorp. He is not particularly liked by the family and likes to play practical jokes that lead to interesting situations. The reason they keep him around is because he is a smooth talker and can get them gigs when he feels like it.

Anyone else have fun things cooking?

I just noticed yesterday that a hand full of entrants for the Zenoid story competition were given special recognition for their offerings. I must have missed the announcement. I especially liked rmoore080's story, looking forward to a finished cartoon.

Music video for the Zenoids is definitely on our plate. Rocket Man was going to talk to someone about a particular song... I wonder if I'm supposed to remind him to do that? On the other side, we are trying to nail down "music contest" - and I think fragile bob has his hands full there.

Probably the wrong place for this, but I can see the family scoring a win once in a while. I have no clue why this came to me as it did, but I found this on YouTube and I can see the family performing this tune (or one like it) to score the one for the good guys:

It has a great travelling theme which can be applied to intergalactic travel, and the two female voices could be Zara and Ziri with Kozmo adding the male vocals. Iggy and Ziri are featured during the musical bridges (is that the correct term?)

I know that synching this tune with the Zenoids is a copyright infringement, but why not something on this tack?

Sorry if I stepped on any toes.

@palm - I'd give it a whirl, but we do have voice talent that we'd like to feature. Tig has a great point - the Roadrunner cartoons have almost no dialogue (to the point where we introduce all the funny signs) - I had a physics teacher who used to show us Roadrunner when he was burned out. He called it "Studying Anti-Physics" -- so we could all grow up to discover anti-matter, I suppose....

@palmaceae - A script doesn't necessarily NEED dialogue to be good. Heck, the mojority of the scripts for the Coyote and Roadrunner shorts had no dialogue. Some of the 80's cartoons (Like G.I. Joe) didn't have any (while on that subject - the G.I. Joe comic had a single episode issue with no dialogue and it won some sort of award.) I am positive that there were a few in the (now defunct) Crossgen line of books (I miss those reads!)

I would just say that if you're going about it as such, just make sure what you want to convey is absolutely clear so folks don't get confused when it comes time for production.

I've got this idea for a script that has little to no dialogue, it's all in the action. Is dialogue a requirement or should I give it a try?

@Tig. Just read it. Just the one page, right? I laughed, it was cool.
