AMANDA TAPPING!!!! She is someone i have admired for years. As a producer and director and everything else i think she would be a great choice!

In a case such as that, I would imagine that our astute mods and admins would step right in and act on behalf of the governors in many respects. Of course they can't dothe anecdotal or personal mostions that the Govs could (they are not that individual, obviously) but I am confident that the folks who keep the site going are more than equipped to handle things until he governor(s) can return. :)

A multi-faceted governorship would be useful if an individual governor was afk or unreachable i.e. on a closed set etc and a governor was needed to give some guidance or make an important decision regarding the direction of a planet or starship. A whole cast from any individual series/movie may be unavailable for extended periods of time.

John de Lancie and LeVar Burton are my two choices. I met John at a convention once and remember him being as dynamic as he was on the small screen, but also very down to earth and personable.

Actually in all seriousness, if going with the dual governroship idea Eddie McClintock and any of his co-stars are a great idea. He can bring in whomever (if discussions warrant) and they can keep us all safe and snuggly under their leadership.
Just sayin'.
Just sayin'.

I have to tell you, a lot of people say Mark Hamill to me. And I got to meet Eddie McClintock at Comic-Con, he is a really cool guy. If we got a Who, though - ha - I just made myself laugh, because of Rocket Man's post. Like a dare for us to consider ... Who.
A dual governorship, that's a rad idea, if there's a team out there that's into it.

Hmmm, I guess I'm-a gonna step right up and annoy the hell out of everyone by adding my to (or three or four) cents...
Someone suggested Eddie McClintock from Warehouse 13. Good choice. A definite contender, IMO. He IS a fan boy, very polite and personable, with a great sense of humour.
Someone else suggested our esteemed Mr. Shatner. As "Lord Master of all of MOS" he has his hands pretty full, and is probably needing a worthy lieutenant to fill the spot. Hence - he's out.
Amanda Tapping? Yes, a starship captain as well as a governor/ness would also be a sweet idea. She has the fan following to prove it. Alas, she too might have her hands full with Orion and the goings on over there. As much as I think she'd be a great fit forthe post - she's out.
Sir Patrick Stewart - hell yes! Excellent choice. But with his involvement with the new spallation facility and the promotional work with that, he might not hve the time between that, his stage/screen work, to fill in for the spot. Sadly - he's out.
Felicia Day - yeah I can see her leading the way. She has experience, charisma, is an avid fan girl and a gamer...which might lead to her dropping zara for Sirius as she IS a big gamer. Might have to have the Shadow Contingency keep a rapt eye on her...
So where does that leave us? Hmmm...
I would say one of the past Doctors. Oh maybe not Tennant (busy lad, that) but how about Eccleston or one of the others? One of his famed companions would also not be much of a miss. I'd, of course, mess myself if Tennant DID take the governorship! That'd be awesome. (Yeah, gushing fanboy here.)
Mark Hamill would be another good qualifying candidate. years of voice acting, Truly there is only one Joker any more. He, too, from what I have seen, is quite likeable with a great senes of the funny. Personable. As to how busy he is, I don't know.
One of the cast of either the original battlestar Galactica or the new I think is a strong idea. A Tricia Helfer or Katie Sackhoff-run Zara would have they guys defecting like mad to get citizenship there. A Dirk Benedict or Richard Hatch-led Zara would still get the guys (and a few of the gals) zooming on over, but that'd be just for the sheer geek factor of being led by the original Starbuck or Apollo (maybe a dual governorship - oooooh!)
Plus there are so many of the Star Trek alumni - where to start. I know there'd be the mass majority of the mae contingent of MOS if Jolene Blaylock or Jeri Ryan took the reins. Just someone remember to bring something to wipe the drool off their chins with. So many names to associate with Zara that any of them would be excellent choices.
I've not any personal druthers I'm throwing names out for cnsideration such at the above as well as Adam West, Dean Cain, Lynda Carter, Michael Landes, Pauley Perrette, David McCallum, Dwayne Johnson, Matthew Fox, Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, Jeff Fahey, Michelle Rodriguez, Terry O'Quinn, Ali Larter, Zachary Quinto, Adrian Pasdar, David DUchovny, GIllian Anderson, Mitch Pilegi, Robert Patrick, Brian Thompson, Jeffrey Combs (OH! There's a choice!) and on and on and on. It's been a while since was anywhere near the industry, but as of last year a lot of those folks are pretty well known and easy to find with excellent careers and some positive mental attitudes and knowledge behind them.
Just throwing that out into the arena. I hope I didn't cheese off too many folks by rambling.
Oh dear, gotta go, the nice young men in the clean white coats and huge nets are a-comin. TTFN!

Could Amanda Tapping double up as the Governor of Zara as well as being the Captain of starship Orion?
Tuesday, 08 February 2011 16:34
ROSSFOUR! Felicia Day = Yes. Yes. Yes. Even though I'm the objective, faceless moderator, I'm going to create 40 brand new fake accounts just so I can keep voting.

Who here would put in a vote for Felicia Day as Governor? I raise my hand...
