Introduction Thread - Meet some of your fellow actors!
Zara seems to have been very quiet lately, and there doesn't seem to be a thread like this here so I thought it would be a good idea to start one up to breathe some life into what I am sure will be an amazing, vibrant community full of like-minded artists.
I'll start!
I am Pepe le Quoi, and I turn 18 years old on February 2. I hail from the dry, forgotten Western half of Australia. I've been here a fair while now (ever since our glorious Admiral Shatner first advertised here on his twitter account), but as far as being *here* activity-wise, it's been on and off. I first joined up here because of the promise of meeting like-minded people and other aspiring actors, and perhaps even being lucky enough to get involved in a project.
I started taking drama lessons at school when I was 13 years old, and before that I only had a mild interest in doing drama. I totally fell in love with the subject and as a result I have been studying drama for the past five years at high school. I have also been in various school productions, and my straight acting debut was in Cloudstreet, where I shocked everybody by being cast as the Black Man (I am a white girl). Apart from the obvious, the role presented many challenges for me and I can confidently say it was the best experience I had. For my final assessment, I wrote an Original Solo Production and after spending months agonising over what to do for it, I decided to go back to what I loved the most - science fiction and comedy. This is how Delta Theta was born. Having to write, learn, block, rehearse, polish a 7 minute monologue, whilst also considering lighting, sound, props, hair, make-up and costumes in less than a week for the school's showcase evening was a massive challenge, and one I still don't quite know how I managed to succeed.
There are many reasons that I love acting, and I would like to explain a couple of them. I love being able to shrug off my own (not particularly exciting) personality in order to embrace a character totally different to myself. As a person who was very isolated in primary school, I was always drawn to the comradarie between castmates, and it is something that I will always treasure from the experience of rehearsing and performing Cloudstreet. By the end of the final show, we were like an extended family and it was amazing, and the first time I had ever felt truly a part of something. And of course, the adrenaline junkie in me just loves that pure rush you get when on stage performing - especially with an active audience. It is an indescribably wonderful feeling!
Anyway, that's more than enough about me now, it would be really great to see plenty of people posting here about their own experiences so that we can all get to know each other better. It is rather quiet in here at the moment!
I have been fortunate to be part of some great local and Hollywood film/video projects. Most notably, I was part of the original 48 Hour Film Project short 'Aidan 5', which spawned the web series that is on laptop and desktop screens now. It's been fantastic watching the series take shape and to contribute as a performer.
I earned my SAG eligibility last year on 'Super 8'. I was pulled from the background to deliver lines to Kyle Chandler, who played Deputy Sheriff Lamb in the Abrams/Spielberg collaboration. It was a great opportunity and a thrill to work with JJ Abrams. I joined SAG early this year.
On stage, I became an ensemble member in one of our local theatre companies. It's been great working with folks who are equally passionate about their craft.
Additionally, I am a contributor to the Ustream.tv channel 'RadioOrNot', which was started by talk radio personality Nicole Sandler after the demise of the Air America radio network. In addition to her own daily show, 'Radio Or Not', she has lent her channel to a few of her ambitious listeners for nighttime shows. I can be heard as part of the gaggle on 'Turn Up The Night', airing Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-10pm ET.
Again, it's great to meet you. I'm looking forward to the conversations.

I have done voice work in commercials for local businesses that air on WWGP Sanford, NC. Too bad I was an intern at the time!!!
I hope to get some more (paying) work in the future, but It's always fun for me!

I'm a pretty big scifi/fantasy/horror fan, mostly via comic books and video games. Currently playing/reading Fallout: New Vegas, Fable 3, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, The Dark Tower series of graphic novels, Haunt, Locke & Key and most of the Star Wars comics on the market right now. I'm a big Star Wars fan (sorry, Admiral Shatner).
So that's me in a nutshell.
