Watched them give Nickel Children a great review!
Hope this network gets up and running =)
Sorry for the delayed response! I am in Western Australia and it would be awesome to collaborate on a project sometime. It is one of the main reasons I joined up here! I am starting university this year, mainly taking English and History, but I love acting and really want to keep it up at least as a hobby. I would love to be involved in a project which could see the return of some awesome Australian sci-fi! :D
Sometimes you can find actor's workshops led by CD's from different shows. Unless you're living in London or Wales, where it's shot, I'd say the odds are pretty much slim to none. However, that shouldn't stop you from trying. Your dreams will never be anything but dreams unless you go for it!
I think it would be possible if your dream is not only fueled by being a "fan" -- but by appreciation for the technical production aspects, an expert on stretching a budget, and have "paid your dues." Look at Zachary Quinto, for example. You can't hit a career target in this biz by aiming in a straight line.
I came close to being on doctor who, but at the last moment passed up by someone else...
I was hired by my university to perform lectures on the topic of video games last year. The focus was on video game history for the first lecture, and the truth about kids, health, and video games for the second.
Unfortunately, the original lectures were four hours long, each, and it turned out that people weren't willing to sit through that much. Now, six months later, my original outlines of the lectures have fallen apart, but I figured that I could create video logs of the most interesting highlights.
Unfortunately, my microphone has static that's about half the volume of my voice. I don't have the money to buy a new one (literally just flat broke...) and I'm not that great of a recorded speaker anyway.
So, I thought I'd ask those whose talents run in that direction; anyone interested in helping with this project? If so, please respond here and/or send me a message. I'm going to be out of town this weekend but will use some of the time to adapt my notes, refining them for clarity and points of interest. The video logs will be uploaded to MOS for public view when we're done.
