I am a lifetime subscirber to STO, and I've been greatly enjoying it for a couple of months now. Anyone else here play the game?

I am a life timer subscriber as well but didn't like some of the aspects of the game. I am going to let it develop a bit more then go back and try it again.

Due to school I haven't been able to spend time to play STO, but I'm hearing that it's not as great as I was lead to believe. Even from reading this thread I may never play the game. Cryptic helped on COH, COV, til they nerfed it to hell and back it was the one game I always played, but STO there's a lot left undone it's like it's not a complete game from what I'm hearing again I never played it. Sure fans my pay subscription fees but really to make that not something you can play for free with a few advertisements makes no since to me. I'd rather play something free than spend 8-12 bucks per month on a game I already shelled out 60 bucks for. Some games I have payed to play like the afore mentioned COH, COV. However I ain't playing them now why, because it's too much money to invest in a game that just makes it less fun whenever they go oh well you have too much power and the systems not balanced something that should have been dealt with in beta if they had listened but they refused to listen to reason. Stated that you could solo the game if you wanted to but in reality it's geared for Teams.

Sorry didn't really mean to go on a rant about things. Message me if you want to hear the rest of my opinion.

Sorry to waste ya'lls time with my rant.

The best MMO trial system is probably the "Endless trial" WHO is currently running.

STO don't have trial because you have to buy client at first (and you will get 30days with it but these 30 days are expensive compared to the subsription).
That's why I am stuck and don't know if I should buy it or not :/

the old republic must have lifetime subcription! I want it :DD

Spring 2011? I might save enough money to buy lifetime subscription for tOR.

Just joking, I don't know if it will have that option. But I probably won't play STO, maybe only a trial.

To b honest... it is not bad. But I kinda miss the Shock and Awe thing. At first it is like wooooow i can fly through space and shoot things but later... i miss colisions of ships + it is really stupid when u shot down klingon Negh'Var class ship with ship u get at the beggining of the game... The ground combat??? Really sad... NPCs running around doing everything but not fighting... lets hope it gets better. I want to try it again during the summer

I played in the beta, but the truth is that right now I just can't afford a paid MMO sub. I'm currently shuttling money into other projects. That being said, I did have fun while I was playing it and wouldn't mind trying it again later on sometime.

I am a huge Star Trek fan but i was really disappointed how Cryptic is handling things. My personal view is that the game is not even closed to be called finished, the same goes for Champions Online! Both games that they published are in my eyes lacking of end-content, you can reach the end levels to easy. And also making all the quests a sort of instance, made me feel like its not an MMO Game any more.

I quit EVE Online about 2 months ago, and really needed to spend some quality time "dirtside" as it were. I'm interested in your thoughts about STO though--maybe you could write a review? I'd be grateful for a review from Planet S.
