I think I need a proper hello... again. I had an account originally close to when the site first launched(I wasn't overly active then) but had deleted it when I was bombarded by 60+ emails a day even though I had turned off email notifications. Sadly I couldn't keep my orignal username, or use the same email account when recently decided to come back.

Does anyone have any idea how a creature or bioship would propel itself through space? Working on a story for someone and I'm not sure how a completely biological entity could pull this off.

Check out the bio ship in Farscape the Australian TV series from a few years ago. It was born operational and only need a symbiotic pilot to give it direction. As to how it worked, that was never explained as far as I know.

You can always try some sort of bioluminescence tweak. Think along the lines of a bio Ion drive. If some organisms can release bio-photons, why not bio-ions? Write on!

Oh I know all about farscape Steve, I,m more than a little obsessed. My problem was coming up with a semi believeable way of explaining it. But chris has helped backup one of my first ideas. Thanks guys.

How about bio-chemical reaction? How about a living wing, but solar-sail type?

Hi all its your pesky trying to be a writer back again with my new science fiction novel Memoirs of an Outer Space Alien. PROLOGUE I’m writing my memoirs to the inhabitants of planet Earth. I came here by an accident many light years from another galaxy. It wasn’t by choice that I traveled to your home. Anyway I wanted to share my journey. My experiences here were enlightening to say the least. After I arrived I quickly learned your English language and the many word variances used in your…

If I have an idea for a sci-fi show, what is the best way to get it to someone for possible production?
kaedancekaedance on Friday, 01 July 2011 03:50

Depends on what kind of media. A television show, you'll probably need an agent. For a web series, just a domain name and a bunch of twitter & Facebook followers.

kaedancekaedance on Friday, 01 July 2011 03:50

But remember, some of the best sci-fi shows started out as web series.

AgentSmithAgentSmith on Friday, 15 July 2011 12:38

As on of my favorite bosses told me - "I Hollywood, when you make something, you win." The best thing to do with your idea - is to work on it.

Technology is at the place now where you can make a version of your idea yourself. It's just about figuring out what you've got to work with and committing to get it done.

Even if you only make thirty-seconds of your idea - and it's half as good as the world-wide-web-of-wonky - I'll promote it. Just remind me I said that when you're done.

Reluctant author's inspiration for his winning entry is good.
