Shatner sat Jeremy Appleman down on the virtual starship bridge at Myouterspace Central to quiz him on how he started out in animation and the aesthetic sensibilities that won him the top spot in the Myouterspace Toon Boom Contest. The two also share some of their ideas about our animated series project: "The Zenoids"

The reality of work Yes, it was a trip to sit down with the Shatman. Bill in person was an absolute delight and a gentleman, and quite a presence, hehe. Sammy was great as well. The guys running MOS really deserve a lot of credit for getting this together. The work itself has been daunting, and being a returner to the field has left me a bit rusty and wanting, and as a detail man and perfectionist, there are times when the passion is hard to keep up at times when my own motions seem slow, but you put in your hours, lots of 'em, hoping for the best, and getting closer and closer to realizing something with a lot of potential. I'm personally looking forward to getting myself back out to the city and spending more time among the movers and shakers. Being back in my hometown has been good for my body, but rough for inspiration. The creative atmosphere is always better without pause and among those who are of the same mindset, and the men and women of MOS are definitely are those kind of people. The day of the interview was a nice fix, but my craving is raging Regardless, I'm hoping you guys'll see a bit of what I've been pouring time into soon and enjoy it. Thanks again for all the support |

... Hey, look at that. Two good lookin' guys. Thanks Zeb, Dispatch. It was great to meet with Bill. Really good guy, a cool cat, easy to chat with. Thanks Bill, Sammy, everyone at MOS! The interview looks great, love the effects and the animations onscreen. My first space voyage was with Admiral William Shatner. And I'm already first officer under captain Amanda Tapping. Haha! If I wasn't me, I might be envious. Cheers All! |

Nice to see you, Jeremy! It was great seeing you and getting to know you, Jeremy! Looking good! I was hoping for just a synopsis of your interview but a video is much better, more personal. All the best on the new project! |

Great interview! Its refreshing when I can watch two people interact in an interview and see real heartfelt interest in the subject at hand; in this case animation and its potential here at MOS. Jeremy's passion and Shatner's receptiveness for ideas (such as the impact of simplicity in animation) was great to see. I think they both really enjoyed the exchange. It didn't seem awkward or contrived at all. |
