About me
Hi fellow citizens of MyOuterSpace!

*What* a fascinating concept for a community page to say the least! :D

I'm Michael from Bonn, Germany - Kruge has been my online Nick since my early 90s days on the Usenet (that was before things like Internet forums even existed) and I stuck with it... I guess it came to that, because the "real" Kruge is just such a lovely villain and I have a thing for underdogs like him... ;)

Sometimes I make music on my synthesizers - since Kraftwerk's "We are the Robots" played on the radio back in '78 when I was but a tiny wee seven year old Kraut the strange new sounds of these boxes blew my mind.

I became fascinated with this amazing, back then rather new and unknown, instrument that enables you to create completely new and amazing sounds, almost immediately.

Today synthesizers are a well established factor in pretty much all genres of music - we've come a long way! But imagine how truly revolutionary these things were when they appeared on the scene... No other instrument ever before allowed you to come up with noises that no one had ever heard before like they do!

Then, in the 80s, home computers added yet another facet by allowing you to do complete arrangements of a tune all by yourself. You didn't have to own a recording studio anymore and could skip the step of finding musicians to play your music, but instead all of a sudden you could tell these little machines to become your drummer, your bass player and so on.

It is, therefore, not a surprise that the main influences for my music come from both the synthesizer pioneers and the godfathers of C64 game music. Some of the names and groups that come to mind are:

Kraftwerk, Jean Michael Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Tomita, Orbital, Front 242 or Depeche Mode on the side of the "real world" musicians and Rob Hubbard, Ben Daglish, David Whittaker or Chris Hülsbeck for the team of game music composers.

I'm looking forward to discovering the people and possibilities here on MyOuterSpace.com - if you have some questions feel free to send them to me, I'll do my best to answer whatever you come up with!

Peace, Over and out, your Michael "Kruge" Briel!

That guy had such an amazing maniac energy in him... *and* those looks! I mean, come on - here I am, almost 40 and all hetero and stuff, and even *I* go "Wowwwww!"! ;D

Now that Mr.Smith has shot his first season and I have seen more of him:

He's a good Doctor, definitely. I still miss Tennant, but Smith doesn't do a bad job at all and his Doctor is a cool addition to the group. :)

I'm so happy to be a friend, thank you! Welcome to MOS, wishing you all the best in your creative endeavors! Go forth and explore the site, your home planet, join other planet groups that compliment your talents, make many new e-friends, participate in discussions, and let everyone know what makes you tick!

Please remember that the site is still in the BETA (test) phase so more improvements to functionality are on the way. If you would like to contribute your insight on how you feel the site could be improved, please find the discussion post for this topic already underway in "The Galaxy". The "Missions" have not started yet, but we do have a few planet Governors, Star Ship Captains, and crew members will be recruited from the MOS citizens so start showcasing your talents.

If you are looking for a place to start getting a feel for MOS, please read my Blog titled, "Anastasia's MOS Guide to Getting Started Top 10". For more IN DEPTH information on site functionality please go to the Site HOME page (found on the top menu bar of every page) and scroll down toward the bottom...on the right...there is a link to Darth Vader's "Hitchhiker's Guide to the MOS Galaxy"...very detailed and informative. Also, there exists a HELP menu on the top of each page as well.

Feel free to ask questions, nearly everyone here is friendly and encouraging. Anything you can personally do to help another citizen, the positive energy of the environment, and/or the MOS site will be greatly appreciated today and always. Enjoy your time in Outer Space and WELCOME!

Your Friendship Ambassador,

Anastasia :)

    Messing up Computergames

Small but disastrous changes to famous video games was the topic, and I *highly* suggest you check out the other submissions too, there were some brilliantly silly ones in it. :)

"You don't know Jack" is one of the funniest multiplayer games I ever played. It puts you into a virtual quizshow in which you try to answer trivial questions. The fun comes from the presentation - the show of course has a showmaster too, and that guy is just hilarious!

Of course it wouldn't be as much fun if the questions were much, much harder...

Then I was thinking about what would make Pacman really boring - and I guess one way would make it practically un-losable.

But that'd be wayyy too nice. Much better would be a Pacman that gives you no chance in hell to win - but initially pretends to:

Bubble Bobble - a game in which you Burp Bobbly Bubbles at the Baddies...

The Legend of Zelda - Link and the Vuvuzela of time:

Then I went a little naughty - Stalker, Call of Prippir... Papira... Prissipus... Damn, you know the real name:

And, since things are the way they are, once you sunk that low you can at least enjoy it - Torchlight:

    and Mortal Combat:

    Guellhoer Ue Raeven by Doodlebug

Okay, today we pick one of the weird ones... The year is 1990 and I'm toying around with my hifi deck and cables and pressing 2 in-channels at the same time and recording stuff and looping it back...

Basically trying to create something out of non-instruments.

The result is ... interesting. I guess.
