Has Eureka "jumped the shark"?

I thoroughly enjoy Eureka and will be sad when it is gone. At first I was worried that the Jack Carter character would become a bad cliche but the character has grown stronger every year. I hope Colin Ferguson finds himself another Sci-Fi series and doesn't end up on some cop or lawyer show.

Of course, kaedance, Science Fiction is never silly. It just can't be.

For the record, I have seen no silliness. Just awesomeness. Especially every time Dr. Parrish and Fargo face off' and especially especially when they're facing off over Dr. Martin. Wil promised us at Dragon*Con that we would, "be all 'nooo' then 'oh, cool,' and then all 'what?!'" by the end of the season, and I have to say, the man didn't lie. I believe I said all three of those things while watching the episode.

I have come to the conclusion that each new episode is so wild that a term such as "jumping the shark", taken originally from a silly sitcom, has no relationship to Eureka.

My interest in Eureka waned after several characters 'returned' from 1947 and everyone's role was rewritten. I think it defies the whole character arc concept, where people have to earn the lesson(s) they're supposed to learn. Unless things change back to some degree it destroys the continuity.
I also live with an elderly parent, something that's increasingly quite common in mainstream society. And at 84 my mom is a senior Dr Who and Star Trek fan. Does this mean people like us are actually Geek 2.0?

LOL well Steve V, I don't play WOW and I am deffinately in the nerd/geek catagory, and I don't live in the basement, but I do live with my elderly parents to help with all the heavy lifting and stuff.

Docwho1Muise, it's worse then you think. The guy, who runs SYFY thinks he understands nerds, and thinks we are all like the guy on the guy on that South Park who lives in his grandmother's basement and spends his life playing World of Warcraft. I am not joking. He has contempt for his fan base and does not care a bit about science fiction.

Whoever is running SyFy is not a geek/nerd and is not paying any attention to the SciFi fanbase for sure.

Canceling, among others, Farscape, the Invisible Man, Stargate Universe, Eureka, etc. Syfy is on it's way to becoming a good reality TV and wrestling network.
